The Thoracic Surgery Department of Verona is a tertiary referral center for lung cancer, chest wall disease, trauma, mediastinal disorders, malignant pleural mesothelioma.

Formerly attending surgeon of the Thoracic Surgery Dept. of the National Cancer Institute of Milan, and before that a clinical research fellow in the same institution.
TEACHING EXPERIENCES
In 2013 he was adjunct professor of the International Medical School, the first English-Language medical school in Italy, in the Humanitas Hospital.
Since 2017, Adjunct Professor of the University of Verona Medical School – Cardiothoracic Department
CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Malignant pleural mesothelioma, inflammation, immunity and lung cancer, minimally invasive surgery, early lung cancer detection, lung nodule management, segmentectomy by VATS, thymoma and myasthenia gravis, and oligometastatic NSCLC.
Chest wall surgery for benign and malignant conditions.
Cooperates in a multidisciplinary group for translational oncology research in Verona.
Scientific advisor of the Italian VATS-group, promoting major lung resection by VATS for lung cancer in Italy (www.vatsgroup.it).

As of January 2018, Dr. Infante has authored or co-authored 56 peer-reviewed publications on international scientific journals (1451 citations on Scopus).
He was the Principal Investigator or the DANTE trial, a randomized study of LDCT screening for lung cancer.
